How a project runs
Work starts with a conversation and an estimate, not with a contract. We go through what you need, describe the scope in writing and give a figure in time and money. After that the project moves in sprints: design and prototypes first, then development with a working build at the end of every one or two weeks, QA running in parallel rather than at the end, and finally the store release with the review fixes it usually asks for. If the scope changes along the way — on longer projects it does — the estimate is revised openly instead of being absorbed quietly until the deadline arrives.
Stack
Swift and Objective-C for iOS, Kotlin and Java for Android, React Native when one shared codebase is the better trade. On the server side PHP with Laravel and Yii2, Ruby on Rails, Python, MySQL; Vue.js, JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3 on the frontend; WordPress where the client's team has to publish without a developer. How long does a mobile application take?
It depends on the scope, and a reliable answer comes after we have gone through the requirements together. A product with a backend, authorisation and payments is not the same work as a single-screen utility. The estimate in hours and money is given before the start.
Do we get the source code?
Yes. The code, the repository and the store accounts belong to you. If you later move development in-house or to another team, nothing has to be rebuilt.
Can you take over an application somebody else wrote?
Usually yes. We read the code and the build process first, then tell you what condition the project is in. If a rewrite costs less than support, we say so before taking the work.
