Website and web application support

We maintain websites and web applications after launch: fixes, CMS and framework updates, performance, security and the small changes a live product needs every month. Including projects written by other developers.

Website and web application support

When you need website support

Most sites do not fail all at once. They get slower, fall behind on updates and collect small problems until something breaks at the worst moment.

What's included

Takeover audit

Before supporting a site built by others, we read the code, check the hosting and deployment and list what is broken or risky. You get a written report and an honest estimate of what support will involve.

CMS and framework updates

WordPress core, plugins and themes, Laravel, Yii and other frameworks, plus PHP and JavaScript dependencies. Updates are tested on a copy before they reach the live site.

Bug fixes

Broken forms, checkout errors, layout problems in new browser versions and integrations that stopped responding. Every fix comes with a note on what caused it.

Performance

Slow queries, heavy pages, caching, image formats and Core Web Vitals. We measure before and after, so you can see what actually changed.

Security

Vulnerable plugins and libraries, admin access, malware cleanup and injected spam links. After a cleanup we close the hole the attack came through, not only the symptoms.

Small improvements

New pages and blocks, forms, integrations and admin features: the routine work that never justifies a separate project.

Taking over a site from another developer

Taking over a site from another developer

Sites built by others often have custom changes inside plugin files, no version control and nobody who remembers how updates are deployed. We start by moving the code into a repository, setting up a staging copy and reading the custom code, hosting and deployment. Then you get a report: what is broken, what is risky and what can wait. If rebuilding a part costs less than supporting it, we say so at the start rather than after a year of patching.

Updates without breaking the site

Updates without breaking the site

Postponed updates are the most common reason sites get hacked or break without warning. We update regularly and in small steps: first on a staging copy, then on the live site after checking the key pages, forms and payments. When a plugin or library is abandoned by its author, we replace it before it becomes a security problem.

Security and cleanup after a hack

Security and cleanup after a hack

A hacked site often looks normal to its owner: malicious code hides in files named like core components, and spam links are shown only to search engines. We find and remove the injected code, close the vulnerability it came through and check search engine data for lasting damage. Then we set up the monitoring that would have caught it earlier.

How website support starts

01

Access and audit

You give us access to the code, hosting and admin panel. We review them and send a report on the site’s condition.

02

Scope and price

We agree what is covered, the response time and a monthly volume of small changes.

03

Setup

Repository, staging copy, backups and uptime monitoring are set up, and the urgent issues from the audit are fixed.

04

Monthly work

Updates, fixes and improvements within the scope, with a report on what was done and what needs attention next.

Frequently asked questions

Can you support a site built by another agency?

Yes, that is the most common case. We start with an audit of the code, hosting and deployment, and agree a scope only after we know what we are taking on.

Do you only work with WordPress?

No. WordPress and WooCommerce are common, but we also support custom web applications on Laravel, Yii2, Ruby on Rails, Node.js and other stacks, including their admin panels and APIs.

Our site was hacked. What happens first?

We assess the damage and look for a clean backup. Removing the malicious code, closing the vulnerability and cleaning up search engine warnings are done as one piece of work, and the timing depends on the size of the site.

What if the site is too old to support?

The audit will show that. Sometimes updating in steps is realistic, and sometimes a rebuild costs less than a year of support. You get both options with estimates and make the choice yourself.

Do you also look after the hosting and server?

Server administration is a separate service. If your site runs on a VPS or a dedicated server, website and server support are usually combined, so one team is responsible for both.

How is website support priced?

Usually as a fixed monthly scope agreed after the audit. For occasional needs, such as a single update or a cleanup, we work by the hour or at a fixed price per task.
